2017 Vacation Bible School at Prince of Peace

VBS Theme: Build on a Rock

This year our Vacation Bible School is "Christ is our rock and the solid foundation for our lives of faith". Your children will enjoy four, fun-filled mornings as they are led through our building and carpentry themed activity stations. We will do crafts, play games, have snacks; and of course, learn Bible stories and sing songs. Craft activities will include painting, so please dress your children with this in mind.

When: Monday, July 31st - Thursday, August 3rd, from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Where: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (6020 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd. Fairport)
Who: Children from ages 3-1/2 years old (must be potty trained) to  4th grade

On the final day of VBS, Thursday, August 3rd, there will be a closing program from 11:30 to 11:50. During the program the children will sing a selection of the songs they learned during the week and review some of the Bible stories they learned. After the program is over, we invite parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends to join us for a grill-out provided by the church.

DAILY SCHEDULE
When you arrive with your child for a fun filled morning, you will be asked to sign in. One of our staff will then accompany your child to the morning activities. Shortly after 9:30 we will gather in the church for our opening program and a devotion from God's Word that will be led by our pastor.

After the opening program the children will be put into age-based groups for the day's activities. Throughout the morning your child will hear Bible stories, make crafts, and play games that focus on the day's theme. There will also be a break for recess and snacks.

The morning's events will end each day at 11:30 with the children gathered inside the church. We will have the children wait there until their ride comes in to pick them up.

SUPERVISION AND STAFF
Your child will be supervised throughout the day. Each group will always have at least two staff members working with them and moving them from activity to activity. In addition, each activity will have a couple of staff leaders supervising.

Our staff is made up of adult members of the church, along with some teen helpers.

We are confident you child will have a fun, safe, activity-filled morning while learning about their Savior.

CLOSING PROGRAM AND PICNIC
On the final day of VBS week, Thursday August 3rd, there will be a closing program from 11:30 to 11:50am. During the program the children will sing some of the songs they learned during the week and review some of the Bible stories they learned. After the program, we invite parents, siblings, grandparents and friends to join in a cook-out lunch at the church.
